The Arts Society Isle of Man

The Arts Society Isle of Man changed its name from The Isle of Man Decorative and Fine Arts Society on 20th June 2017. We are an affiliated member society of The Arts Society which itself changed its name from the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies following a rebranding launched on 17th May 2017.

The Arts Society, headquartered in London, is a leading arts education charity, registered in the UK, with a global network of 380 local Societies, which bring people together through a shared curiosity for the arts. It has 90,000+ members who contribute to and preserve our artistic heritage through volunteering and grants.

The Arts Society Isle of Man, an unincorporated members society, was formed in 1996 by an enthusiastic group who laid the foundation for a successful and popular local society. Although an affiliated member of the English charity, the local society is not, itself, a charity. As a member you will receive The Arts Society Review, a national magazine printed quarterly and concessionary entry rates to some national heritage sites and museums. Membership costs £50 per annum.

warning

Coronovirus - August 2022

Plans are in place for UK based lecturers to visit the island in person. Lectures will be held at the Manx Museum lecture hall whenever IOM Government Covid regulations permit and provided visiting lecturers are able to make suitable travel arrangements. Lectures will be made available simultaneously on Zoom so that members may choose whether to attend in person or by Zoom at home. In the event that a lecture cannot be delivered in person at the museum we intend that it should be delivered by Zoom to members at home and to those attending at the Museum.
